Yesterday was simply fantastic! My day consisted of a combination of blogging, tweeting, and eating. Maybe not so much the blogging part, but I tweeted like a bird all day. As for eating, my girlfriend, and I had originally decided to go to five guys, but after seeing the massive line we quickly changed our mind, and headed to the cheesecake factory. Unfortunately that line wasn’t much better, but we decided to stay there anyway. After about a ten minute wait we were seated, and handed our menus by the waitor. Having never eaten there before, my mind was blown away by the amount of food they had on their menus. I had to have read that menu for atleast fifteen minuts before deciding to eat their four cheese pasta. As many of you know CY Bot is medias mascot. He has become very popular in very little time. He’s basically a Justin Bieber story, unknown at one point and famous at the next.  Anyways the past couple day’s he’s had several interviews and maybe one to many. Earlier today he was in an intense game of hide and seek. He was hiding and we the people were seeking. There were only a few people who knew of his whereabout, the cyber media group. After coming back from lunch we went to go check on him and he wasn’t there. Immediately we were on high alert looking everywhere for him. We went to broadcast media and they did a missing bottles report. We searched and searched. Finally, after a very long two and a half hours, we found him on the second floor of the  Renaissance unconscious with a faint pulse. Caleb, one of our media bloggers gave poor CY Bot CPR. Thank goodness CY Bot is doing okay getting ready for the fun and eventful night.

UN Delegates work on Arms Trade.

This year our 65th State Conference features a new section at Texas Y&G.  Model United Nations is being implemented to give students new ways to explore issues and learn about the world. 

 How does it work???? Each student “adopts” a country and learns about its history, culture, government and social systems.  They then get exposed to current events and important global topics.  Taking these two sets of knowledge, they develop the official position of their adopted government on the topic and work with other country representatives to suggest solutions to the world problems. 

 Topics debated at this year’s conference include:

• Arms Trade
• Recognizing Emerging Nations
• Genetically Modified Food
• Diamonds in Fuelling Conflict
• Border Disputes
• International Surrogacy

 The work of Model UN and its committees is highly collaborative.  Students come to the conference with their own ideas and work together to build solutions . . . they learn about other points of view . . . they focus on “the big picture”. 

 Congrads to our UN delegates on a job well done this year.  Be looking to see how their resolutions faired at committee.

Lets just get to the main point of this, CY Bot is missing and we must find him. He was last seen on his adventure. He was hiding and waiting to be found. Then one cyber media delegate went to his hiding spot to refill his water but when he got there he was gone. CY Bot is six inches tall with blue eyes and a distinctive blue belt. Please find him if you can. His life depends on it.

   While at State you are on your own for food most of the time. Fortunately last night the Palestine delegation went to PF Chang’s for a group dinner. Well you know you have to order and then wait for your food. Well that already takes a while, but then when you have about ten people it’s an even longer wait. While we were waiting for our food to come some of our girls decided to entertain us and the kitchen staff by singing their version of “Baby” by Justin Bieber.

So today we filmed some delegates acting like animals, including (in order of appearance) a koala, a cow, a monkey, a vicious cat pawing at fish, a fish and a bird( those last to played by moi). It was HI-LARIOUS! Our greatest apologies to the delegates that we didnt feature but thank you for your time!

Hey hey hey! Aleja Newman here. So today some of the cyber staff and I went to Five Guys and Amy’s Icecream. Five guys serves amazing burgers and big ‘ol fries. The staff even stops at your table and askes if you need a refil or any condiments. That is seriously awesome, I mean what fast food restaurant stops in to check on you? They;ve got great food and great service! Amy’s icecream has some great flavors and tons of toppings including: Mango, Mexican Vanilla, Belgian Chocolate and Vegan Aloha . And for toppings they have Reese’s, Twix, gummi bears,and pecans. We recommend these two places for lunch and dessert and to get there you just down those giant stairs, around the back of the hotel to the left and then take a right towards the Cheesecake Factory. Five Guys is a little further down from Amy’s but it’s great ’cause you can hit it on your way back. Of course they’re not as cheap as McDonalds, but lemme tell ya’, you get your “bang for your buck!”
